. Woking Classic
Car Show 2007 .
We
had a great day at the Woking Classic Car Show on Sunday 3rd June.
This
is a fun day out for all the family, along with plenty of classic
and modern cars, Motor cycles, Bicycles there must have been well
over 100 vehicles from 1914/5 vintage to more modern European and
American cars, car clubs of all kinds also stalls from B-B-Q's to
beer tents. There was a central roped off show ground where owners
showed off their vehicles and received their winning trophies.
My
wife and I arrived and were shown where to erect our gazebo, having
not used it since last years show, I emptied it out on the grass
and remembered I had not marked the poles, my poor wife who has
MS and gives me all the support she can, tried to help me put it
together, so, where do all the poles go, it took about half hour
to sort out, I didn't know some poles were longer than others! In
the late morning heat I had the club stand up and running ready
for the arrival of the public.
Several
club members visited us, it was great to see them and their families,
I am pleased to say the weather was sunny and warm, it all went
to making a great day out. The whole event was in the aid of charity
for the Woking Hospice, this is a annual event and it would be lovely
to see more club members next year.
I
am pleased to say the old Gazebo has gone to live in the garage
and we have purchased a pop-up gazebo and according to the instructions
'can be put up by one person in 60 seconds', we`ll see!!

I
attended the MG-Rover pride day. It was great event with some sadness
with the powertrain building now gone along with other sections
of Longbridge. My mate Bob collins brought his one day old registered
Rover 75 1.8 t contemporary along with my own MG-ZT and Andy merrills
R75.
We all met up at junction 11 M42 and convoyed down to Junction 2
and met up with John bull and co , and all other Rover/mg fans.
I must admit I'd taken with me around 100 leaflets, for Rover -MG
fans, of the where abouts of new-old stock and the lot went within
the day. I had people ringing up for new-old stock Rover as soon
as they had the where abouts of the product. I wonder if the Nanjing
group will get this commitment?.
PS: check out a MG-TF on a "07" The first one I have seen!
I did find the red flag of china a little sad, I just wish we had
the UNION jack standing tall again.
